Two CD's arrived today - both Eddi Reader,
"Eddi Reader" &
"Angels & Electricity"
Both lovely - nothing else can describe her, she has the voice of an Angel.
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Just listening to the remastered version of Tubular Bells. Giving a pair of S45's a good testing too.

Currently listening to Tom Waits - Singapore from 'Rain Dogs' on Vinyl.
Great music, albeit about as alternative as you can get. I always seem to think of pirates whenever I listen to his music

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Is anyone picking up the Live Lounge CDs from BBC Radio 1? i have these shipped over from UK to US and find them brilliant.
Some things british just dont seem to make it over the pond. we missed the UK garage trend, Artfull Dodger anyone and now these. well worth the shipping.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Hey Eugene - Pink Martini on my iTunes cabled to a BM 3300 with a set of RL60's up in the studio.
Its a beautiful Easter sunday where I am at. All my hyacinth are in bloom as well as the tulips and daffodils. the lilacs may burst through by days end. Good excuse to get out and do some yard cleanup.
Then I think I will fire up the grill have a few friends over for total heathen Easter dinner.

Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry
I never get tired of this song. I wish I had a version that didn't cut short the lovely guitar solo, though!

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Went to spend a couple of days with my mother in Indianapolis, (spring cleaning), picked up some old vinyl that was part of my deceased stepfathers collection.
I have an old Hugo Winterhalter - "Wish You were Here" album playing. Most of the vinyl is in really good shape but unfortunately it was all stored down in her basement so between the dampness, dust and her cats some of the jackets are in pretty rough shape plus they stink to high heaven.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
I've been listening to Pearl Jam for the last few days, especially the reissue of Ten, remastered by Brendan O'Brien. Sounds great, even better than the original album. Apparently, they are working on a new album right now. It should come out later this year.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
I purchased some TV shows from iTunes and I have just discovered that iTunes/scrobbler/Last.FM are now revealing my TV viewing habits to Beoworld :-)
(when posted the first two episodes of LOST appeared in the signature block)
Yesterday I bought a 3 CD set of the Blade Runner sound track, unreleased sound track pieces, and Vangelis' new compositions in the style of BR.
Other recent purchases have been Francois Hardy (x3), Rod Stewart (x4), soundtracks of "Beaches" and "Big Night", Jane Birkin, Tracy Chapman, Skyhooks, and Creedence.
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
I am a huge fan of Francoise Hardy !
Most people in the states have never even heard of her.
Right now Im listening to Sia Furler's new release "Some People Have Real Problems".
Also relatively unknown in the states.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
What I am listening right now is FOURPLAY 's new album "Energy", some smooth jazz to make me dreaming of holiday and summer breeze in these grey days we currently have in France. The setup used is a Beosystem 4500 with B&O Studiomonitors from Danemarks Radio, a really stunning pair of active speakers from the late 70s! They are connected from the powerlinks of the Beomaster 4500 to their XLR sockets. Their sound is quite comparable to Beolab 5's!... but this will be the object of a new topic in the vintage section...
