The Cat Empire - So Long. Their latest album is a stormer. Can't wait to see them live again when they next do a UK tour. The most entertaining, energetic and skilled musicians I have seen on stage, period.

Whistle & A Prayer - Coldcut. Sound Mirrors is an exceptionally good album, very very different from any of their prior material.

Now listening to Mendellsohn's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Excellent, although I tend to prefer impressionist and generally more experimental classical music...

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Now listening to Spoon's 'Don't Make Me A Target'. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga is one of the best albums of '07 IMO. Just been listening on my B&W DM7s for the last time before the buyer picks them up.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major-- Nigel Kennedy with mouth shut. This was the first music score I ever owned and use to love following the score with my finger whilst listening to the LP. Great music!

Jandyt:
It's a K-Tel 70's compilation - the current track is Hot Chocolate - It started with a Cyst. (Being K-Tel, I know the songs but I'm not sure they're the original artists)

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Never listened to it properly to be honest. My uncle (he of the wasp sting) is going to do me a copy. Its all instrumental remixes on that album isn't it? Craig

Excellent song, and the album is equally excellent too. Overall, it's a little more poppy/mushy than their other albums though.
I bought Man With A Movie Camera a few weeks ago, and boy is that an incredible album, regardless of the fact that it's all recorded live in the studio. Excellently recorded too, even though the double bass sounds a little vague at times.

Tangerine Dream! One of the albums I don't have. Rubycon was one of the first 'classics' I got into, in fact I might put it on now...

Imagine Tangerine Dream on BL 5's! Anyway now I'm listening to the Boards of Canada. Geogaddi. I know you like that one too and what a masterpiece it is!
