    Beo4 AV switching

What is the equivalent Beo4 command to AV on the BL1000? I have a BC9500 and LX5500 in the same room which are not linked. I change from audio to video all the time for volume and muting purposes. I find selecting AV on the Beo4 list does not switch sources. It assumes the two are linked so, for e.g puts the 9500 into Aux when pressing TV>AV

    Re: Beo4 AV switching

This seems like two separate questions: First, whether the BL1000 has an AV command, which it may not (I can't recall seeing AV on a BL1000, but it's possible I'm wrong...) Second, how AV works on the Beo4. You are correct that the AV function is predicated on the two products been connected (DataLink or ML). Without that connection, all it will do is open up AUX ports and send commands in vain...

The mk1 and mk2 BeoLink 1000 have the AV command, the later ones do not however. The Beo4 does have the AV command as you have mentioned, but I don't think it does the same thing. There are actually a few commands on the Beo4 which are labelled the same as the BeoLink 1000 but don't do the same thing.

    Re: Beo4 AV switching

All Beolink1000 have the [AV] button. The mkI & II between the [PICTURE] and [SOUND] button and mkIII & mkIV next to the [STAND BY] button.

The [AV] button on the Beolink1000 and the "AV" on the Beo4 are the same.

On the Beolink1000 for example [AV] [TV] to get tv sound over the sound system (if linked and both in option 1)

On the Beo4 first press [LIST] a few times to select "AV" and then [TV]

You can however, with the Beolink1000, switch between sources by pressing [AV]

For example: both tv and radio are on and you're watching tv. The Beolink1000 is in "TV mode" and you want to control your radio without having to press [RADIO] first. You can do this by pressing [AV] [volume up] or [AV] [volume down] or [AV] [mute] or even [AV] and then followed by a number or the [/\] [\/] buttons. To switch back from the radio to the tv you do the same.

It's not possible to switch between audio and video with the "AV" command on the Beo4.

Whoops, don't know what I was smoking when I wrote that.

The earlier(?) Beo4 actually has AV as a direct button, witness: link

Thanks for the replies. Indeed the ability to 'toggle' between sources is something BL1000 has in favour of beo4 - and it is in the right place, very near the mute button.
