    beomaster 2000 speaker issue

Thanking you in advance for any help anyone might be able to give me. I recently purchashed a Beomaster 2000 and after plugging in my second set of speakers I immediately lost some volume. I can not get the volume to go above 40 and when I keep trying to push it more the receiver turns off completely.  When using only one set of speakers everything works wonderfully. What should I do. Thanks again.

I take it that it is the 80s BM2000. Sounds like it is the protection circuit working. I would check the speakers cables and make sure that there is no short or poor connection. Martin is obviously wondering about the load of the speakers - if they are both very difficult to drive, the amplifier will try to protect itself. It probably needs a service - new capacitors and some variable resistors - they do gradually go out of spec and may well cause symptoms as you describe.

If it's Beovox X types then find some better speakers like the Beovox S-45.

Beovox X series are B&O's most horrible sounding speakers. The 2000 sounds good though.
