Beocord 9000 - when I press play the deck go in stand by mode!

    Hello,

I recently purchase on ebay this faboluos machine, i also have a Boecord 5000, 5500, 8000, 8002, 3300 all in working conditions.

This 9000 has a problem: when i press the play button the tape go to play for just 1 second and after that go itself in stand-by mode!?

anyone know or had this kind of issue? can anyone help me to find out?

This may be a question for the vintage forum!

I would guess Dillen may know the answer, but we have some brilliant engineers on here who i am sure can help.

Belts? My newly acquired Beocord 8004 doesn't go into standby, but the solenoid tries to engage the tape heads, then immediately disengages (a classic sign of disintegrated belts) Perhaps Martin could advise!

Definitely the first place to look. Martin can supply belts.

    thanks to all for suggestions!

Belts? da***t maybe I forgot to change it? I'll check this but I'm pretty sure this is the first thing to do with "vintage" decks, and I ususallu do it!

seems to me a contact issue, when I press better the board that control the reel (the one at the left under the mechanic) for one time (only one... sigh) the deck works...  obviously I clean all the contacts and check and clean the connections, but until now nothing...
