    BV7 MK3 Questions

    Hello All

Do i need some sort of home automation control unit for connecting a projerctor to the DVI output on the TV, is there a special box that takes care of all of the telling the screen to drop and controlling the projector (comms)?

Whats your advice on HDMI cables, where to get them from cheap but still good quality? need 5 meters

are there certain projectors that will work with the BV or will any work?

I currently use Dobly 5.1 and the TV can support 7.1 so my current rear speakers are they going to be rear or surround as im going to keep 5.1 for a while?

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

Hi Seanklemis.I have a bv7mk3 running a Jvc Hd 1 1080p projector which is connected to the projector out socket at the back of the tv (you will need a Dvi to Hdmi Converter plug) plug your lead in to that then in to your projector and away you go!

You will need to tell the tv it is connected to the projector ect but you can find all the info in the Bv7 reference book you got with your tv hope this helps.

The pictures are great on the projector,I have sky hd,virgin and Ps3.The only thing is that I havea fault with the Dvd output which does not work but thats the tv and is getting sorted/exchanged,so be all systems go soon Big Smile

    The Bv7 Mk3 is a fantasic tv.

    Hope this helps you!

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

The cinema control module has a 9 pin plug. You can control 2 contacts by pressing FORMAT 0 (or CINEMA on Beo5).It`s adjustable in cinema timings menu. I use a Lintronic box to control projector, screen, lights...

If you program a macro, all the functions will be controlled by one command. Works great.

    More info: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/116388.aspx

You will find the pin out of the plug in the service menu, ask your dealer.

    Hope this helps

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

Depending on your precise setup the Lintronic box may not be needed.  Ideally, if you have a projector which the BV-7 can control, the 'Cinema' output can control the motorized screen for you.  You only need to get more pieces involved if you intend to add lighting, drapery and more.

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

    I`m using the -238 box. See: http://www.lintronic.dk/TT455-RT-238.htm

You do not need a specific screen. any motor screen will do. You can control it via IR (if possible) or X10 or relays....

Here is a list of devices you can control with the lintronic box.http://www.lintronic.dk/asp/LinTronic_SupportedDevices.asp

For home cinema control just connect the 2 outputs of the BV7 (9pin) to the digital inputs of the Lintronic box (see pinout: http://www.lintronic.dk/TableTopVersion-Technical-005.pdf), and let the digital inputs control all devices/functions.

Digital inputs are pin 1 and 4, ground 5 (Lintonic box).

Create a macro in Lintronic`s memory map: when receiving digital input 1 on, send projector on, screen down, light off...

2nd macro: when receiving digital input off, send projector off, screen up, light on....

"digital input on" and "...off" are sent from BV7 by pressing FORMAT 0. It`s a toggle command (right word?).

You will need a special cable for connecting BV7`s HCC output to Lintronic`s digital input. Both are 9 pin but I think the pin-out won`t match.

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

Hi there i have some more questions

i went to my local dealer today to have a nose at there BV7 MK3 and some things cofused me

firstly in the sound menu i coud find lots of menu for adjustment and tv speaker types and tv speaker roles, how can you tell what powerlink socket is associated with each speaker on the menu>

there appear to be about 12 connections in the menu but the TV only has 6 powerlink sockets?

also i set the display 2 to generic projector and a few of the selected ones in the list and coudl not find anywhere where you can adjust the speakers configuration in a projector setup

also i pressed format 0 on the beo4 and nothing happened what so ever?

does the TV from new need to be enabled to be able to use the display 2 or have i missed something?

    Re: BV7 MK3 Questions

ok i have read the manual and it says i will hear a sound telling me i have the correct speaker assosiated to the correct setting

my other question is format 0 and cinema mode.

i coudl not find any reference to the cinema speaker setup. does this have to be enabled i thought it came as standard as part of the MK3
