    BeoCom 6000 & DECT repeaters

Hi, I have 6 new BeoCom 6000 handsets and the new PSTN base station, but my coverage breaks up in my house.

I have since bought 3 RTX DECT repeaters from my local store, but I still keep getting break up when on a call.

The bases are registered correctly, and correct test tones given - and I was wondering if there was a more substantial DECT repeater available? Has anyone else had this problem? Great phones, am reluctant to send them back for a refund.

I have 3 BC6000s around my house and no issues of break up....

Contact your dealer, don't send them back for a refund, he'll want to do all possible for you.

Hi Beotunes. I have BC6000s in my home and can use the 'phone easily in the loft, three storeys above my base station. I think the higher in the house you can put your base station the better it would be at connecting with your handsets. You don't happen to live in Buck House do you?

I have 4 6000s and a BC2 and some pretty thick stone walls. No problems - though my BT line is pretty rubbish!

    Beotunes,

What you say is very interesting - I had an MK1 PSTN base (with 1x BC6000) and had no problem anywhere around the house (and into the garden), I just recently I bought a Mk2 PSTN base and I've had numerous problems. The house is just pretty standard (timber floors, etc) but If I go beyond about 7 metres from the base the signal breaks up. I'm returning the PSTN as I think there is a problem with it - It cannot be normal with such poor performance.

RTX Telecom (on there web site) claim they have a dect repeater that has a range of 1.5 km indoors, I'd like to see that house!  Whether that repeater will work with the B&O PSTN I am unsure but I can't see a reason why not.

Hi, Thanks for your advice.... I managed to get the VERY last Big Square oblong, black PSTN from my dealer and amazingly....... problems resolved. We did try another of the new type PSTNs but with the same range problem. Interestingly, the new PSTN's will only support 1 DECT repeater unlike the older version. Surly this is a backwards step? I dont live in the biggest house in the world, but Im sure that there are many other B&O customers that do!

    Thanks again for your response!

OK, just book a trip to Rügen at the coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Germany and visit Prora.
