Help: Why does my Ouverture always think it is June??

    Hi there

I got a small problem with my new (used) Ouverture. Every night at 00:00, it resets the date in its calender to some arbitrary day in June. Then I resets it to the correct date, and the next day it does the same trick again. The clock is not affected. How come this odd behaviour? The seller said it had stood unused for a year, but a dead back-up battery sould not change the date in the calender.

Is it a common software fault with ouvertures? (I think mine is software version 1.3)

    Any help is appreciated

    Christian

    Christian,

might be your Ouverture is even more intelligent than we think and assumes it must already be June due to the outside temperatures in Europe during April / May this yearWink

I have not heard of that fault before. Early Ouvertures had a problem with inaccurate clocks but this was fixed with new software. That was a case of the clock gaining a few minutes though rather than changing date.

Is the clock backed up by battery?? This could explain it if the battery has failed.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

I adjusted the date this morning, and then un-plugged the mains. When I powered it back up this evening the radio channels had shuffeled places, some were gone while others had been added, but the clock and date were spot on. To me, this sounds wery wierd...

But well, as long as the radio channels don't shuffle while the power is connected, I can live with the date being wrong, I am probably not going to use the timer function anyway.

I bought my Ouverture in Italy over 10 years ago and I've got the same problem with the date. Just checked it now and it shows 6th June 2007 when it should be 10th May 2007. If I try to program the system to record or play with the timer facility the date goes back to normal before confirming the timer. Before this I had a problem with the clock going too fast but this was years ago. I took the Ouverture to get repaired when I was still in Italy and the clock is now ok. I never understood why it behaves like this Confused

Nice to know I am not the only one whith that problemConfused. But I must say that it is odd a odd behavior the Ouverture makes, always one month ahead.

Cloud beHmm, just a bit late to see the effect. Perhaps lots of ouvertures got this problem, but people rarely are aware of it as most people seldom use the timer function.

Re: Help: Why does my Ouverture always think it is June??

I have never had this problem with my Ouverture. Even after plugging out from mains, the date is always correct. However, my model is the latest one produced by B&O (after 2000) so the Y2K bug was definitely not a problem.
