Beomaster 5500 - No sound whatsoever to my speakers

    Hello,

I have what seems to be a perfectly functional MCP that interacts well with the amplifier.  However I do not seem to have any sound coming out of the speakers.  I tested the speakers so I know they work.  However, the wire tips are bare and they do not seem to connect to the amplifier securely; they are very loose.  I have read another post in this forum and they were mentioning about a connector (please see http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=FM42V&DOY=21m3 ), that speaker wires must have to connect appropriately to the MCP.  But this applied to another model, Boemaster 2400 (please see http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/98948.aspx ).  Would this be the same connectors required for this model?

Thank you very much for your time.

    Welcome to BeoworldSmile

Yes - the DIn plugs linked in your post are exactly what you need for your Beomaster 5500. Let us know when you get them wired (positive side of the speaker wire to the small round pole & negative to the flat spade) if you still have no sound.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.
