    Wall Street Journal article

Interesting article on David Lewis and the BeoLab 5 in today's Wall Street Journal.

Thanks for posting that. Very interesting indeed. For one that he goes against the incoming CEO when it comes to customer feedback and focus groups. Also what I find more surprising is that they show the BC6. It's a US newspaper and the BC6 is not available.

Either it's coming or they missed out showing the BV7 or BV8.

WSJ: Bang & Olufsen's incoming CEO, Kalle Hvidt Nielsen, believes strongly in customer feedback, focus groups and the like. What do you think?

MR. LEWIS: I think you can't go out and ask people what they need or want because they don't know. The whole trick is to come out with a product and say, "Have you thought of this?" and hear the consumer respond, "Wow! No, I hadn't." If you can do that, you're on.

Very true.  You could never ask any focus group to give you the idea for a Beomaster 2400  or Beosound 9000.  They could never begin to imagine it.

Welcome to BeoWorld sagill and thanks a bunch for the link, it was an interesting read.

David Lewis mentions that he and his team aren't the only designers for B&O, yet the vast majority of B&O's latest products are all David Lewis branded.

Don´t think Lewis design the telephones and the medical equipment.

I have to agree with Lewis on customer feedback. He's completely right, let's just hope the new CEO will listen ( to him )  : )
