    Beogram 4000... another case

    Hello;

    After a year seeking for a sweet Beogram 4000, I finally got it today, after a painful wait of almost a month (eBay). I'm very unhappy as the packaging turned out to be very unprofessional, including brown adhesive tape all over the item, including some puching the tonearm and stylus against the aluminium. Anyway, I decided to bring this to its old glory even if I have to send it so one of our experts in the forum.

    As a starter, I'm posting a picture of some parts thar were loose: a small band, a spring, a plastic disc and what seems to be a small cushion for the plastic disc. Can somebody help identifying where these pieces go:

    Looks like the drive for the arm carriage.

    And the spring looks identical to the one I found inside my BG6000.

    Thanks for your inputs. I'll try to put the small band and disc myself.

    I found where all those pieces were from. The white bearing and the soft washer were part of the tonearm motor (you were right Peter). The band was obvioulsy the one on the same tonearm motor.

    The spring is the one in the screws of the back plate of the dust cover.

    So far I have fixed:

    • The sensor arm that was not parallel
    • The tonearm would not reach the vinyl position because the bunch of wires coming off the pushbutton system were blocking the movement of the red pointer.

    Still outstanding:Super Angry

    • The pickup arm will not come down (I think is the coil system [:'(])
    • The stylus plays only one channel
    • Need thorough oiling as tonearm movement makes lots of noise
    • ...

    I'm finding the service manual quite helpful and comprehensive. Still I'm very upset with the poor transport of this jewel (eBay..).

    Common with this deck I am afraid. Mine came in bits as well!
