I was recently told my 8000 turntable needs a new cpu but they haven't been made for years.  Does anyone out there have any suggestions, other than tossing it?

The Cpu in Beogram 8000/8002 is very rarely not the trouble.

In an 8000 it's mostly the tacho disc which controls the speed.

The capistors in a 8000 causes the repair guys to say the cpu is dead.

Thanks for the tip.  I have 2 of these tables and the plastic tacho discs are OK in each.  I'd like to get at least one of them working.
