Re: My five new toys....................by Andy T.

The third one of the five is this 1987 Beomaster 3000.
The reason I chose this is because it can be mounted on the wall.

It has a couple of minor marks on it, but nothing too bad. It is in perfect working order, and I have spent the whole day today, mounting it above my PC. I have connected my Beoport to it and a pair of Redline 45s

At the moment, I am having one of those surreal moments.  Sat here in the kitchen typing, whilst listening to my favourite Spanish radio station (Son Galicia Radio) playing melancholy Spanish Bagpipe (Gaita, sounds similar to Northumbrian pipes) laments, through Redlines that I have never heard before (£5, eBay), powered by an 1987 (pre Beolink 1000) amp and controlling it's volume with a Beo4!

    Totally recumbent!!! Paradise Bliss!

Hi Andy - Nice haul.  Tres bon.

However - whoever sold you that PC under BM 3000 needs a talking too - it looks an awful lot like a fridge.

    Nothing gets past you Dave!

I mounted it after that photo' was taken, and during the process, managed to solder one of my fingers, and hit another with a hammer.
Worth it though, and Yes, that's the rabit ear you sold me on top.
Can't take a picture of it yet, as it will spoil my fourth and fifth item photo'.

Dave, do you have any of the ICs or tapes for my Auto Demo?

I might have the video tape and cassette tape, though I did think I had taken them to Bellac. I'll have a search! I never had the CD.

It would be good if you had them Peter, but don't worry if not. I'm not sure if there was a CD, it's only on for a few seconds, so a nice classical music track would suffice.
I have sent you a PM.

Re: My five new toys....................by Andy T.

Ok, now the nights are closing in, time to add to this thread,

Tha fourth item is different to the others in the fact that it is not B&O and didn't come from Bellac. However, I did get it round about the same time.
Those of you that read my 'My B&O' story will know that my late wife had said that we could get the following two items during 2006. A pair of Beolab 8000 for surround sound, and a flat screen monitor to replace the big, ugly grey crt monitor we were using. I had posted that I had since gotten the 8000s, but not the monitor yet. One of my good friends, and fellow Beoworlder read my story, and was touched enough to give me a monitor he no longer used.
Not just any monitor this. It's a Mermaid Ventura!
Made in Denmark to the same high standards as B&O and to a similar design. It actually looks like a mini Beovision!

    I love itBig Smile

Re: My five new toys....................by Andy T.

....and here's another view, with the Beomaster 3000 on the wall above.
You might notice a link eye above the Beomaster. This was designed to fit in an older VX video to make it controllable when attatched to a Kikinoko TV. It plugs straight into my Beolink PC2 which is now screwed to the back of the PC desk, out of view.
I still have a couple of wires showing, but I'm working on it........

Completely off topic, but before I show you the fifth(and arguably the best) of the five items, this is what has been keeping me occupied for the last couple of weeks.

Beautiful front garden Andy. Is that a Boston Ivy that you have on the wall? I love this plant as it can really decorate a house. Nice monitor you have received too by the way!

It is indeed a Beogram 3000, the Acoustical version
Absolutely perfect for my 5000 system, and, I believe, very rare.
I felt guilty accepting this gorgeous item from Peter, so we agreed that it is on 'permanent loan'
