I don't know about anybody else here but I find it fascinating to see that there are people whom as part of their job, review countless audio devices and transducers etc and then go on to own B&O.

This guy (Adam Smith) is the second one I have heard of to date who writes reviews and owns B&O.

I find it fascinating in that for all the good and bad reviews that all these journalist undertake of B&O (or the ones that they don't!) that they ultimately then opt for a compromise of simplicity (aka "low on features") and value (aka "can getter bang for your buck elsewhere" ) and opt for something like a BS9000/BL8000 system (aka "all style and no substance") rather go down the route of choosing what they write about 5 days a week and the complexities it involves.

I am not suggesting hypocrisy here but rather I believe that there is a self-gratifying need to often slate B&O for "poor street-cred" and to talk-up the mass hi-fi market to sell magazines.

BL8000s + BS9000 have actually always seemed to get good opinions from the hifi industry. What HiFi? gave the rating 4 stars overall (the missing star was probably because they couldn't use cables costing 50 times as much as the cables which would do the job just as well).
