Does this mean that there's an update for the Avant available, or is the update just for later TVs?

To update the STB-C in the AVANT or any other Beovision which does not use flash updates (meaning updates via PC) you need to remove the STB-C and replace the plug-in chip as shown in the picture below

Thank you, Keith. I was about to order the earlier version. Now I'm going to have to work out which is the best PVR/STB to buy, all over again! I guess it's too early to ask for wisdom on this from the group.

It just struck me, though... is the UK classed as Western Europe, or Northern Europe? We could build a case for either.

West Europe covers f.e. SKY HD 1, SKY+, AMSTRAD SKY HD, and so on.

Re: updated STB-C list now online

Iv'e just updated the STB chip on my BS2 MKIII thanks for all the info and pictures etc, it made it a bit easier when you know what your looking for !

My question now would be, I live in the UK, in worcestershire, Digital teresstrial TV is still pretty poor in the area so may hold back on a receiver for a while, but what other Satellite units can I get hold of in the UK does anyone have experience good or bad on what works or not, ie, are the Topfield or Humax decoders any good which models work well more important what does not work well. I take it that the best way to integrate Blu-ray will be to use a PS3 ? or is there a better way.

One of the most important things to me and i'm sure a reason why we all stick with B&O is I only want one remote BEO4

Any help or advice would be appreciated by me and i'm sure by others that read this thread.

For info: the normal upc UPC MediaBox Standard (Pace DC621KU) use the came comands from the motoro. Dvi5000 (stb list)

Anyone has an idea, why the Topfield DVB boxes don't seem to be on North Europe list?

To my understanding they are quite popular here, in Finland anyway.

Guys who installed my Avant, told that the older version, that would maybe be TF5100, is supported, but I do not see even that one on the list. I'd be happy to have TF600 there, though. sigh.

I think you'll find Topfield's listed as "TFXXXX". The list includes the 5000 and 5800 PVRs.

Yes, TF for TopField, but those do not exist on the north Europe list. There is not any TFxxxx models listed. Also, TF5000 and TF5800 are not commonly marketed in Finnish DVB-T/C market.
