problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
when a beolink 7000 says no contact, what does this mean? obviously that it cannot achieve connectivity with the beomaster 7000 ! my question is: could it be beomaster's fault? in any other way, it accepts all orders from remote like volume, source etc., but not those who demand the bi-directional communication! could it be beolink's fault? it seems to work very nice on that charger but not out of it, as its battery is nearly dead! could it be a problem caused by the battery itself? please help! Of course that Beolink was bought on ebay only for 200 Euros (rather a bargain), but that doesn't mean that it has to be faulty.... friendly regards, George

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Hi George. You have two issues here. It doesn'y matter how good or bad the battery is, it should still work in the charger. A battery replacement can cost a lot less than having it replaced by your dealer. Have a look at THIS thread, read the whole thing. As for the 'No contact' issue, try removing all components then adding them again. Andy T.

Sounds like the problem i have with my beolink 7000, as far as i can gather it could be faulty capacitors but havent got the time or skill to replace them. sandy

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Beolab1: I have a Beolink 7000, it works fine, no problems with the two way communication or any other controls. But when it's not the charger, it keeps switching itself on and off. After using it, it switches itself off, two standby lights light up in the upper left and right corner. Then it switches itself on again. This just goes on and on.The problem is actually literally described as a fault in section 2.7 of the trouble shooting chart in the service manual. Since the service manual only advices to replace either module 1 or 2 (which are no longer available), it's of not much help. Does anyone have the same problem?
I had one that did this and it was the rechargeable batteries. Replaced the battery pack and all now well.

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Hmm I have the exact problem as Beolab1 is describing and I know that previous owner changed the batterypack prior to shipment to me, maybe im in luck and only have to change the batterypack in order to get the "on-off-error" to dissappear. Will look into that, however i also have the pasky "problem with 2-way-traffic" but i think that is related to the above mentioned capicators. Jesper L Sweden

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Dear Andy , thanks a lot for your help! So far I have changed the battery pack, and the remote works fine, but the "no contact" issue is still there. I have disconnected all the beosystem 7000 components and will connect them back tomorrow...perhaps they will decide to communicate with the remote after all !!!! do you think that those capacitors in the beomaster are responsible for this mess??? Also I have tried the beolink 7000 with other B&O products I own but still "no contact" is present... I thought perhaps that the MX tv cannot transmit any signal to beolink and that is the cause...Am I right or wrong??? best regards, George

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Hi George. Let us know how you go on tomorrow. Yor MX TV may, or may not be two way, but concentrate on your Beomaster 7000 first. You can check if your Beomaster is sending a signal with your mobile phone camera. There are 4 LEDs that send the signal about 9 seconds after any command (volume up etc) and are highly visible on a mobile. They are in the black bit about one and a half inches to the right of the words "Beomaster 7000" Andy T.

Thanks Andy !! ...YOU ARE A TREASURE!!! Of course I'll let you know tomorrow evening. What am I supposed to see on my mobile's camera? Should I take a snapshot??? Are the leds visible simply looking at the camera? I have a Nokia, a Sony-Ericsson and a Motorola mobile... Which one , you think is more sensitive? Warmest greetings from sunny Greece. George

No you don't need to take a picture, I doubt if you would be quick enough anyway, it's only a quick flash! It shows up much better on a mobile camera than it does on a digital camera. Just try looking at the end of your Beo4 or Beolink 1000 when you press anything, it will give you a supprise!

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Dear Andy, Sorry for my late reply.. Doing that test with the mobile camera i realised that all four lights light up when pressing the panel on Beolink 7000. now , do think that the fault could be with the remote itself??? Contacting with our local B&O service I didn't get any clear answers....to my problem! Is it possible for someone to discover the solution to my problem? thanks for your valuable time and advice! George

Re: problem with beolink 7000 and beomaster 7000
Hi George. You can rule out the Beomaster if the four LEDs are showing. I guess that the problem is the Beolink 7000. If it is the capacitors, that is beyond my field of knowledge. I am sure I remember reading somewhere that one of our members had to remove all components a few times before it actually connected with them. I think it was Peter. You could try removing them again.
