Baa-ad news for the BeoCenter 6-23..

    Hi, Bjorn here!

John just heard someone say that the Beocenter 6-23 has been discontinued.  He's just scampered off to the other corner of the field, but Peter is nodding his head that it's true - he heard it from the top floor!

Right, need to look busy - the farmers coming.

They think we're just eating grass....

Yes, this is bad news. However, I was recently looking at the BC6-23 and wondered if it had DTV built-in and at least one HDMI socket (for easy digital connection). It has neither. Nor does the BC6-26.

Quite frankly, that's astonishing. No single HDMI socket (I don't want HD, I just want to easily connect a PS3, or Apple TV or other box) nor DTV.

Shame to see it go as it was a nice TV in the right room and place. I'm sure the connections would have been improved and updated if they were selling better, but my dealer had always told me that the 23" hardly sold.

I think it has to do with the fact that it's difficult to source these displays.

The size is nice for a kitchen, am not surprised though that its not really selling. I would want the 26" myself ........

Hope there's something to replace it. I personally find 26" a little too big for my room.

A shame it is discontinued. I think a cheaper replacement in the small size (around 22") would be nice, as I really liked the BV6-22 (or BC6-23)  but for me it was a bit too expensive for a link room like the kitchen.

I agree with Alex, that a 26" is too big for some rooms.

Re: Baa-ad news for the BeoCenter 6-23..

In my neck of the woods the 6-23 is a good seller. It looks the part and has the right visual impact in areas such as kicthens and bathrooms. They ran out of high quality panels in this size, but they still have the set in stock.

A neat feature of the 6-23 is the ability to use the built-in radio "the wrong way" over the ML network: A 6-23 in the kitchen and a BeoVision 7 in the mainroom will give the owner both CD and radio in both rooms. This meant that a lot of customers could drop a separate audio system, bringing the price of the 6-23 into a new light.

Also, I preferred the slim black frame surrounding the picture on the 6-23 compared to the over-sized black frame on the 6-26.

Sad to see such a brilliant design in this size go.

    Roger
