Putting an Airport Express in powersave with audiolink

    Hello,

I'm one of the many, who has linked an Airport Express to his B&O.  But I don't like the fact that the AE is on all the time.  So, I would like to use the signal on the Audiolinkcable of Tape 2, to control a relais, which does the job of swithing on an off.

As I had a dead Airport Express, I've resurrected it (resurrect a dead AE).  So, I have easy access to the 5V power supply of the AE.

Is it doable with a relais?  Which wire in the audiolinkcable should I need and what kind of signal gives the audiolink?

    Kind regards

Re: Putting an Airport Express in powersave with audiolink

    Hi all,

I found on the Beotech site that there are 2 wires labeled 'datalink' in an audiolink cable.  Can you just connect them to an relais, to switch on and off the airport express, or is an IC needed, which translates the codes?

I'm afraid the answer will be the last option...

    Kind regards
