I CANNOT accept and reject TOTALLY your comments, particularly after I researched an answer for you which was nothing whatsoever to do with censorship and everything to do with providing quality answers in a well presented manner.
THE FACTS
Your posted the following which as you said was of a "Highly technical nature"
Please help !
If you turn <ON> the full system with the remote (Beosystem 2 an BV4)
Then disconnect the RS232 cable between the Beosystem 2 and the BV 4, and then turn <OFF> the Beosystem 2 with the remote (BV4 screen stays <ON>).
If you then again turn on the Beosystem 2 - what happens ?
My screen remains black/muted (with the RS232 cable disconnected) even the screen is <ON>.
Is this correct operation ???You did not get any replies and so you posted one word which said "anybody ?" still no reply, so you posted again "anybody ?"
Subsequent to your second "anybody ?" posting I had reviewed the circuit and concluded my constructive response which was:-
Having reviewed the Service manual it is clear that only the transmit and receive signals are wired on the RS232 and other signals such as dataset ready are not wired which means that any polling or data update will NOT occur by justing plugging the cable back in. Actual data must be sent to the Beovision 4 to change its mode, as the cable was unpluged at switch on of the Beosystem, the signal would have been sent, but clearly not received.
So, in answer to your question I would say this is working as per the design.
I then just removed the two "anybody ?" postings to keep the thread clean and easy to read, how exactly is that censorship ?
