More or less - unscrew the the transit screws until they clear the metal discs then turn the discs to line up the large holes with the screw heads and then screw them back down as far as they will go.
You may also need to reset the tracking weight, here's how to do this :-
1. Put a record on the deck and press PLAY.
2. When the stylus sets down unplug/switch off the beogram at the mains so the tonearm stops in the play position (simply hitting the stop button wiil cause the arm to return to the rest position).
3. Turn the counterweight outwards until the tonearm is in a "floating" position IE zero tracking weight.
4. VERY CAREFULLY hold the black part of the counterweight and turn the silver ring with the graduations on it until the "0" is at the top - (you will probably find this is the case at any rate which makes life a lot easier).
5. Turn the WHOLE of the counterweight inwards until the correct tracking weight for you cartridge model which are as follw :-
MMC1 & 2 - 1.0g
MMC3 & 4 - 1.2g
MMC5 - 1.5g
6. Job done & all that remains is to restore power.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.
