I have an MX6000 with the motorized stand, and a matching white VX5000 I have trouble positioning (not that I'd use it much, I just like the looks of it...). Was the stand with a VCR shelf a separate product, or was the shelf an add-on to the basic stand? And if so, has anybody seen them for sale at any reasonable price?

Excellent question.  I think most if not all stands would take a shelf.  Let me check to see if i have a spare and I will put it in my bag on my next trip Suomille.
