OK, I got my new MX6000 fixed and now had to think of the connections with other equipment (after moving everything around in the apartment...). My VX5000 obviously was mostly plug'n'play and took the other SCART.
Then I had to think of my STB daisy-chained with a DVD recorder, both of which I absolutely want to watch in RGB and not composite video. I first configured the other SCART as "CDV", which worked, but was really awkward to dig up with both a Beolink 1000 and a Beo4, which don't have a separate button for that. Then I had an idea to configure SCART2 as "decoder", "tune" a preset channel and mark that as "decoder on". This is now good since I can select the STB simply as TV channel 1 - we don't have any analog channels left. But, is there still another better way to configure this?
Also, I'm quite certain I'll be needing more inputs. What should I expect to pay for a used AV2 Expander, or is it actually still available at the dealer? (and is it worth getting?)
And one more thing, can't the MX6000 show 16:9 natively? I see it mentioned in the service manual schematics and specs, but it won't follow the aspect ratio signal from the STB in pin 8 (which worked fine with my old TV). The STB can letterbox by itself, but the picture quality isn't quite as good then.
