I'm sure Beolab or The Stig will be the first to know, based on past experience. If you need to ask again, just add a query to your previous thread/question.

I will inform on the release date on the same day trust me!;)

B&o are going to do a 25p update instead of 24p in the new firmware 4.2.  Because the existing panel can only handle 50Hz pal/60Hz ntsc.  So the new firmware are going do duplicate the 25p with x2 = 50Hz for a more smooth and seamless picture in pans and fast moving objects to maintain the focus and resolution. So you are only going to miss 2 fps (frames per second) witch is impossible fore the eye and the brain to see..

A second possible thing they are considering is to take the 24p incoming signal and then interpolate it with 4= 96Hz and then divide it with two = 48Hz.. (2 frames missing also)

I think this update are going to be very good!... Not only when you are going to watch Blu-ray HD 24p material but also on DVD and DVB broadcasted movies.

    Regards

    Sounds very promissing!

Any idea when it's supposed to be released / how long we have to wait?

As i have said before the release date was set to late April and early may but you know B&o with releases and dates..

I think they wants to do it right this time so i can wait for a good programmed firmware update instead of a bad one.. But i hope during this month, but don´t take this for granted.. I spooked to Peter _____ ho is the Nordic Scandinavian Zone manager at B&o and he said that it will be released very soon...

I will inform you if i hear something...
