    Thank You from BeoWorld

Now that it's 'Membership Renewal Season' being around the time we launched (and had our biggest influx of members), i'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that has renewed.

There are lots of people renewing that have rarely (if at all) posted on the forums and have emailed or PM'd to say things like "i may not post much, but i read the site every day/week and get a great deal of enjoyment from it - which is why i renewed my membership".

Our renewal rate is extremely high, so i can only assume we're doing something right! Smile

As well as our regulars then, i'd like to thank the 'quiet ones' who may not always be present in the forums but are supporting the site all the same and keeping it going for us all to enjoy.

    Yes - thumbs up

We should offer some sort of guarantee to the "the quiet ones" (I know.......... lets form a band)Big Smile that, for their first twenty or so posts, we guarantee that any photos of them, posted by jandyt, will be removed, thus saving them from any sort of barracking by the packLaughing

On a serious note, it's really good to know that there are those that get value from the site without taking part in the day to day arguments / love-ins etc. and are more than happy to subscribe. (I'd still like to hear from them on Wednesdays© though)Big Smile

As a follow-on to this thinking and to bring extra coffers in to the Beoworld kitty, would it be appropriate to run an analysis of all the non-gold members who have had a good run on the forums over the last year and then send them a nice personal news letter asking them to consider upgrading? Fair use policy?

Good to see that it was not only the new-launch-enthusiasm that made people go for gold, but that they keep supporting this great site! Yes - thumbs up

I see where you're coming from and what you're trying to do and I don't mind regular posts in the General forum to bronze members, highlighting the benefits of paid membership and encouraging them to join but I personally would not be happy to receive a letter asking my to join because I had used the forum. It smacks (to me) of a mild form  of unvited phone soliciting from energy companies or double glazing salesmen. My response is always "when I want what you're offering, I'll come to you! - until then, leave me alone!" (or words to that effectWinkBig Smile).

At least those concerned can choose to read a post on the forum - or not, without feeling harangued.

    Re: Thank You from BeoWorld

Completely agree here puncher - we really don't want to be harassing people if they really don't want to, or can't afford to pay. 10% - I appreciate the enthusiasm to 'rally for the cause' though, and understand where you are coming from entirely.

Hopefully, once i have spoken to some advertisers, we will be totally self-sufficient from this and money will no longer become an issue for us.  My ideal is for the site to have enough money to upgrade each time a better version of CS comes out and to have enough money to pay for storage space as we need it at will. Beyond that, we can all mould the site as we wish, as we go!
