Wow! Wonder what the pricetag on that one will be.....

You have to have a pretty big living room to get proper viewing distance.

Why? It's brilliant that they show their design studies! All brands have some kind of crazy projects going on :-) If it will ever make it to the market that's another question...

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

In the emergeing markets in Asia etc. there will be pople who want a  TV like that because they want to demonstrate that they can afford the best.and they know most people will never affors one of have a house big enough to put it in. It's why the high-end car market is booming at the moment. If you remember the s*xiest speakers thread a few weeks ago the Lab5's  looked like the budget item in the mix.

Part of the survival strategy may be to tap the ultra-high end, but this would mean B&) detatching themselves from their core customer base so would be a foolishly high-risk strategy as a global economic downturn approaches.

We will see what the new CEO does about this!

I've never liked the design idea of triangles hanging off of tv screens, but I have to say this looks quite good. It would also nicely cover my window, so I could choose the scenery & weather! Smile

Fortunately not every costomer wants the same [B&O] things.......I for one don't want or need a dvb-t and I have a [B&O] recorder that really works, but I also don't need this huge thing in my place either.....:-)

Just like a prototype car this is a way to see what can be made and figure out what the public reaction is to the new car or tv and sometimes the prototype even reaches the market..................Stick out tongue

You don't have to sell or buy trips ; you can trip sitting in your chair in front of this one...................Wink

Panny have their OEM 103 inch plasma on view in Singapore Airport T2/T3.
It looks like it is on sale for GBP48,000 to 50,000. Guess Panny are catering to the masses too!
So why not rebadge it, put a frame on it and sell it for a few quid more? Who is going to buy a GBP50,000 plama in the first place?
Right!  The same people who would buy a GBP80,000 B&O one and want the exclusivity.
Still a decent picture when watching from your aircraft seat in T1 half a mile back but no matter how hard I try, I can still see the coloured screen pixels!

Sorry, I don’t see the point in having this ugly TV on the market- especially in our houses…..and I don’t like the new frame B&O uses, it looks too ‘made in china’ to me!

I remember seeing an LG’ -carat gold 71-inch TV. This LG TV set, made special for the Emirates   Richie Rich guys cost almost 85000$. That is crazy. LG and B&O will say that this is about marketing segmentation but I think that this is about people that have no values and ethics!

    Just my 2 cents…

    all sold!

the most ostentatious and hideous tv i've ever seen was the loewe covered with swarovski crystals

i think it cost aboot £5k as opposed to £1k for the standard model

now that IS a rip off - the crystals probably cost 50p each !!
