    I did it again...

Could not resist an eBay offer. Bought a Beomaster 8000, Beocord 9000 and a Beogram CDX from one seller for a fair price. Everything looks beautiful cosmetically, but the Beomaster and Beocord need tweaking! I need to go and pick them up in England, so that will be a nice drive and boat trip from Amsterdam. The forum is a always a great help in technical info, so I’ll be around a lot!

P.s. What older speakers (I would prefer B&O) should I be looking for with this combination. I only have active speakers so far. Any suggestions?

You could always look out for a pair of Pentavox's. These should be great when powered from a Beomaster 8000. Or if you want something that is more of a cosmetic match then a pair of MS150's

I think the optimal choice would be the BeoVox Pentas. I quite like the BeoVox RL series too. But they are difficult to find.

    I agree with Craig.

Go for the MS150 if you can obtain them. They generelly need a lot of work, but you will not be disappointed.

I have obtained the MC120.2's. Almost as good, but only almost. Whatever you decide you need a pair af speakers that kan handle the massive power from the BM 8000.

I have the same model of master, and the beocord 8004. It's sooo nice.

I use Beovox Pentas with my Beomaster 8000. They sound great - go for them as the 8000 has power to burn and ideally suits driving these big speakers.

    Re: I did it again...

Congratulations on your purchase Beolab1 - I was hanging my nose over the Beomaster but I went to bid with about 30 seconds left and it had gone over what I was prepared to pay....

Hope you can get it working again without too much trouble.

    Cheers

    Re: I did it again...

Thanks for the congrats and suggestions. I found a pair of fully restored MS150's for sale, but the price is 650 Euros. Seems a bit overpriced!

I agree, that's over the top.

I can get a pair here in Denmark for 100 euros, but then they need fixing. Refoaming of 4 units. Bass and midrange.

    But nowhere near 650.
