    Beo4's New look

Thumbs up or Down? Your opinions please.

    Many Thanks Andy...

    EDIT

Andy, I have edited out the sales link as it isn't within Beoworld guidelines to post such links. Out of fairness I have replaced it with your photo as it is of interest to the members. Hope this meets with your approval.

    Chris.

I quite like it. But would it show greasy fingerprints all the time.

Also, the transpiration of the hands make it darker / mat-grey in colour after a while.

Fingerprints don't seem to be a problem, but if my kids  get hold of it a simple wipe with a tissue does the trick (No chemicals)

    Thanks Beaker

    Re: Beo4's New look

I personally like it Andy I have been thinking of doing something similar to some shoddy Beolink 1000's I have for some time.

    You have a PM BTW.

    I think it looks great!
But with a black upper plate it would look excellent :)

Jooka, you say it is too shiny - do you like B&O products such as BS4500, BS9500, BS6 etc?

The cost is split into two sections, around £7 layout, then the price for 3 hours work. What price can you put on time!

What about the beolink 7000, was that not shiney, and how did it cope with fingerprints?

I can answer that one.  I never touch my Beolink 7000.  I control the system with a Beolink 5000.  I don't want to put fingerprints on the 7000. Ha!

In my house, I don't touch the brass fingerplates on the doors for the same reason!
    Absurd, isn't it?

    Re: Beo4's New look

I love the magic behind the designs of most B&O products , to say you never touch the 7000 turns it into a design without the magic.

    Re: Beo4's New look

Hi Andy, I have done similar experiments with Beolink 1000s and Beocom 6000 pyramids.. The idea was to make gold plated models.
I haven't completely abandonned the project yet.
Caustic soda in an eggcup with a toothbrush is good for removing anodising on aluminium pre plating, but very dangerous to use.

    Re: Beo4's New look

Just out of curiosity i removed the front plate from 1 BL4000 and tried caustic soda on an inconspicuous section on the back, its a bit like putting a drawing pin in the wall using a lump hammer!! even when diluted it leaves the surface pitted beyond working conditions.

Is there an echo in here? Stick out tongue

Just kidding! I agree with you, mobeyone, the front should be black for optimal 'bling' effect Wink
