As many of you know the BBC in the UK made all its UK channels available via the Astra satellite sometime ago followed by ITV.
Now Channel 4, Film 4 and Film 4+1 have been put on Astra 2D satellite making them available to most parts of western Europe.
It is the first time Channel 4 has been available "Free-to-Air" on satellite and suggests the channel will be part of the launch lineup of the subscription free service called "FREESAT" All the braodcaster's channels except Film 4 have previously been part of an exclusive deal with Sky.
FREESAT, a new "Free-to-Air" digital satellite proposition from the BBC and ITV is expected to launch next month.
