No SAT option in Avant menu - although it has the STB module?

Guys,

About to fire up my Virgin media box yet having no joy. There is no SAT option on my Avant menu yet the chap I bought it off has Sky on it and it has the STB option installed. Is it just my virgin box playing up (my Avant is a 2000 VHS model) or will I need a software upgrade? Any tips on how to get it tuned in/working or what STB to select in the list?

How did you get to the list if you haven't selected SAT or DTV on one of the scart connections?
