    hi

Does anybody know who is the manufactorer of the woofers (2 pieces 9 cm / 3,5") built in the BeoLab 6000? Where can i buy it? I need 3 of them.

Thanks for all answers in advance.

They are not very expensive from your dealer, about £25 as I recall.

Surprise  woofers from 25,- in a speaker from 1150,- damn I'm really shocked about this. Does anybody knows what the prices of the lab 8000 drivers are, and if it is possible to change the old drivers to the new advanced bass drivers ?

That's not very surprising. Speakers costing many times that still use pretty cheap drivers. For example ATC use a standard set of drivers, and bar their hyper-expensive midrange driver, they're all around £50 each (despite some of their speakers costing many times that of the 6000s/8000s).

They are not that much more expensive. Less than £40 each as I recall from the last time I replaced some that had fallen to bits.

The actual drivers are not very expensive in most speaker systems although the quality that B&O uses is particularly unimpressive. I would say the exception to this statement is the so called woofers in the CX range which always seem over specified to me. Apart from the foam rot of course.

The thing about B&O is the bits are cheap and it's the packaging that's expensive!

Except for the BeoLab 5s; each drive cone is around £250 I believe. That's almost as expensive as they come, although you can get better than this. Expect it would be wasted though due to the DSPs.

How do you remove the woofers on BeoLab 6000? I have two thats blown and need to replace them. After you remove the screws the woofers seems to be glued to the speaker. Anyone that have done this before?

    Thankful for help /Tobias

I will second that, quite simply some of the cheapest drivers available 6000 and 8000 seem particularly bad

Yes, they are held in by a bit of mastic sealant but you have to remove all the modules starting from the top of the speaker as each module overlaps the next!

You will need to just loosen the top of the amplifier module as well to get the last woofer out.

I also recall that top driver fitting is slightly different from bottom one.
