beolab 8000 RCA jack broken inside

    Hi,

I have a Beolab 8000 problem (just purchased the speakers, 3 yrs old)- on one speaker, the RCA line-in jack has a broken internal connection (accidently tugged on the connection cable while pulling preamp out of cabinet, hours after these speakers arrived!). Has anyone dissassembled the cone base of an 8000 to access the jack? I've downloaded the service manual, and the assembly diagram looks pretty daunting. I have a torx screwdriver set, and I'm ready to jump into this fix-it-yourself project. I'm sure a dab of solder is all it needs, and the nearest B&O dealer is a four hour drive from here. Any suggestions?

Once you take the weight off of the bottom of the speaker the cone is held on with a circlip at the base of the threads. This will uncover the "works" but I must admit to never having taken much notice once the cone is off!

    Regards Graham

    Thanks,

Easier than I thought it would be. A nut on the back of the RCA jack simply needed to be tightened (loose connection). Its working and sounding fine now!
