Re: Correct fuse value for BG 4000?

    Hi Derek,

Yes I saw that, and thank you. I called twice, but did not manage to connect.

While I like the idea of avoiding the folks at Customs who are more brutal than ANY shipper, my Beogram 4000 has had a MOST checkered past and I have zero confidence to the parade of repairs that were made on it.

As such, I would prefer to risk Customs and accept Martin’s offer to do his magic on it. Had Martin not offered, I would have asked Frede who is unquestionably most reliable.

    Jeff:

Canadian Customs is not a problem if you supply then with the proper documentation.

Call them up explain the situation and ask them for the declaration forms you need. You won't be taxed. If you are, your invoice showing date of departure and a letter from Martin acknowledging services rendered will get you a full refund including handling fee.

If you are still weary ship UPS. They clear customs in house. If all the paper work is there they don't even open the package. (Leaving and entering Canada).

You just need to know how the system works and give them what they want. If everything is not there, they are obligated to look inside, it is their job.

I'm not defending the system or suggesting that your misgivings are misplaced, only that in the past when I have given them exactly what they wanted things went very smoothly.

    Jeff,

Regarding the tracking sensor. Don't adjust using the clamp screw. Instead losen the fixation screw sitting at the bottom under the sensor arm. Then adjust using the excentric screw just to the right. This will adjust the light sensor rather than the interrupter. Lock again using the fixation screw.

Re: Correct fuse value for BG 4000?

    Hi Martin,

The Beogram 4002 is fixed. Big Smile It required a couple of minor (tiny) adjustments. Thank you for your help.

I now have 4 1/2 working turntables: Beogram 4002, 4004, 8002, 1602, and the half is the 4000 which is now running beautifully, as long as I do not allow it to attempt to play a record. (I know this is useless but it does allow for "exercise" for the caps and other components.

The Beogram 8002 is a stunning new addition I purchased on eBay from. B. Rapp. This unit was completely rebuilt and runs exactly like it was new. Just a beautiful turntable in wonderful cosmetic condition  to match the superb mechanicals.

An interesting observation in regard to the 8002 is the utter silence. Even when the solenoid engages there is no sound, unlike all my other Beograms which omit a definite "click" when the tonearm drops. Does this indicate a difference between the 8002 and the rest, or do the other Beograms need some additional attention?

The Beogram 1602 was a gift from my friend H. Lee who felt considering all my Beogram woes that I needed a simple and dependable backup unit.

Good to hear that you finally can enjoy your Beograms.

My Beogram 8002 is still playing like new since I got it home about 6 months ago.

The only noise is the end of a record when the arm is lifting and goes back.

Yes it's my Beogram in this clip. All of it exept DAT and M150(He did find some stands though) fixed by Dillen.

I was just fooling around with my cell phone last friday so far form perfect clips. Besides it's my first upload to youtube. In the other clip you can hear the beginning of the record which is no noise untill the music starts.

It's never something I wondered about as it was not working right at all before Dillen so hard to say how it should sound when working right.
