    Connect a Beogram 5005 to a Beomaster 6500

    Hi everyone,

I need your help again. A nice Beogram 5005 is on its way to join my beosystem 6500.

Do I need a preamp or it is just Plug & Play (literaly!)?

    Thanks!

You will need a pre amp I'm afraid unless your BM6500 has had one fitted (very uncommon)!

    Thanks, Graham.

I might buy a Pro-ject Phono Box or a NAD...

    Two little questions:

    1 - I'll need a MM or a MC connection?

2 - How do I connect the turntable to the Phono pre?

    Thanks in advance!

B&O cartridges are Moving Magnet  ( they are actually Moving Iron but let's not confuse the issue!)

What you really need to do is make up a custom set of wiring. Most RIAA amplifiers use RCA plugs and you will need to use an adapter. However if you want remote control, you will need to have a connection from the 6 & 7 pins on the Beogram to the Beomaster. The Beogram and the Beomaster actually use different pins in this case so you need to connect the two pin outputs to each other.

    Thanks, Peter.

Do you know any online shop who sells these kind of adapters? I could search here in Portugal but I bet they would use some rubish material to do that and later I would search for better options... So I might search for one good adapter from the beginning...

    Thanks in advance!

Never seen an off the peg solution - Plenty of 5 pin DIN to RCA but you will lose the remote option. You need a little electrics shop with someone who is keen to make you one!
