    Substitute for Beolabs

    Hi Guys

Was looking around to see if there were any good substitutes for Beolabs, preferably some that hang nicely on the wall like the old 3500's 4500's

Also, if you buy speakers of different brand but still active/powered do you need any other cables or will the speaker cables do?

    Thanks

    Hi Adam.

There is a company, basaed i Switzerland or Austria that makes active speakers directly compatible with B&O products.

Piega I think is the name. But I have only seen one model of speaker from them, a free standing floor speaker...not what you are looking for i think. But just to say that you can get other brands to play with your B&O of any kind.

Beocenter 1, Beosound 1 and high hopes for more to come.

The only company I know off that produces powerlink enabled amplified speakers that are of good quality is Detoma in Germany.

    www.detoma.com

As any of these are kind of out of my budget, I resorted to making my own.......

Not sure if you're aware of these - they could be right up your street - unfortunately they're passive.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

The new B&W XT serie will be active and wireless Smile (the xt 2 is smaller)

Piega is good, but not active. You can also look at Revox (Swiss made hifi). They also have room systems etc.

Schönberg speakers look crazy, but I don't know if they're active

    I would prefer a pair of b&o 4500's
