    Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

I'm a novice owner of a brilliant Beosystem 7000. I wanted to buy that since I was a kid and now , finally, my dream came true!

So far I used my Beolink 1000... but i don't have the Beolink 7000 to master control the radio and other functions!

Do you think that a Beo4 can handle the tasks that a beolink 7000 does? I mean tuning - RDS etc.

Please give me some advice! I probably need that!

    George from Greece.

Re: Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

Hi George and welcome to the forum.
What a lovely system you have, I have one myself.
The Beo4 can do anything you want from your 7000 except setting up timers, and it is a bit tricky tuning radio channels, though not impossible.
I have to let you down gently about RDS.Sad
The only advantage with the RDS is that it shows in a small display on the Beolink 7000, which channel you are listening to, not on the system or the speakers. Of all the fantastic features this system has, RDS is the least useful.
If you bear with me for a moment, I'll find the thread which tells you how to tune radio channels and post it on here.

Re: Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

So I far I only use the basic features from my Beolink 1000. Though the sound is fantastic (I have two brand new CX100 !! ) I cannot tell a lie! I need to do more and Beolink 1000 is not too handy!

I appreciate your help! I'm glad that someone replied!

Waiting for that link you said...

     Thanks a lot!

Here is the link George, but if you have a Beolink 1000, it's even easier!
    On Beolink 1000,
    Radio
    Goto
Up or down arrow (or 1073 for 107.3 FM if you know the frequency)
    Store
    Number (1 to 99)
    Store

Re: Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

Hi , just had a little play, years since I did this! To get to AM,
    Radio
    Goto
    Shift
    Sound
It should say 'A' on the Beomaster now
Can't help with the MX I'm afraid.
Off to bed now, I'll be here tomorrow evening if you need any more help with the 7000.

Re: Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

BACK AGAIN ...AS GOLD MEBER THIS TIME! i THINK THAT OPINIONS SHARED HERE ARE MUCH MORE WORTH THAN THE 42 EUROS I PAID!!!!

     ANYWAY,

DO YOU HAVE ANY GOOD IDEA HOW TO SETUP RADIO STATIONS USING THE BEO4 REMOTE ON THE BEOMASTER 7000?

I TRIED AS YOU SAID, WITH BEOLINK 1000, BUT THERE IS NO DISPLAY WHILE DIALING THE FREQUENCY OF RADIO STATION...IT JUST KEEPS ON SEARCHING! I MANAGED TO STORE MANY STATIONS BUT I DON'T KNOW THEIR EXACT FREQUENCY! CAN I MANAGE THIS WITH THE BEO4 REMOTE?

ARE THERE ANY PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS , "HOW TO DO THIS & THAT?"...

     FRIENDLY

    GEORGE

Re: Controlling Beosystem 7000 with Beo4

Hi! I use beolink 1000,beolink 5000 and Beo4 for controlling Beomaster 7000 in main room. The 5000 is great for programming radiostations, timers,  settings etc and as it's as small as beolink 1000 I think it's a perfect companion  to Bm7000.

I also have a Master Control Panel 5500 in the kitchen and the advantage with this is that you can see all info, including freqencies. Disadvantage: its's size, though I like it. You can even see recording level from your tapedeck on MCP (even though I never do any recording anymore)

Both BL5000 and MCP5500 (and MCP6500 and beolink 7000)are two way which you really should go for together with BS7000.

I use Beo4 only to select source and volumeadjustments. Otherwise I prefer the others as Beo4 is one way= unintelligent display

    regards
