    Problem: Connecting a non-B&O screen to a Beosystem 2

I have a Beosystem 2 which I plan to use with a non-B&O screen. The output video signal of the Beosystem 2 is a RGBHV 576p 50Hz. My screen can accept this type of signal - so no need for any converter.

However, when I switch the full system <ON> the screen remains black. It is like the video signal is muted (or the electronic curtains does not pull) - the screen however synchronises on the 50 Hz signal from the Beosystem 2 - but the screen remains black (also no Beosystem menus possible).

Leaving the system like this - the Beosystem 2 will return to standby after 5 minutes.

Does anybody know if there is a need to activate the video output (15 pin D-sub) when using the system with a non B&O screen. E.g. change plasma settings in the service menu ???

    Thanks

If I were you, I would kick the beosystem2, show it who's boss.

Things like this should just work right?

Hehe, to be honest, sometimes i wouldnt be surprised. I apply the same technique to my home computers and they work a treat :) Even the noisy fan shuts up when it meets pain :)
