Dirty laser lens or bad capacitor(s) on servo pcb.

If cleaning the lens does not sort it I would replace C2103 on the servo pcb which is the board screwed to the underside of the cd mechanism. There are a couple of other electrolytics on the board but this is the main culprit.

    Thanks a ton Graham...!!

Where are the parts available??   I see PCB numbers in the service manual....but not the "servo pcb"

Do you know in which part (1-5) service manual....replacement of this is in??

Did it work before you sent it to Denver? and did the same bloke look at the Beosound 9000????

The servo pcb is part of the cd module. The pcb drawings and cd set up procedure are in the manual but I'm not sure what part. It is page 5-13 of the manual.

The parts are available from any good electronics store. C2103 is originally 33microfarads 16volt but these are hard to come by. I use 47micro 25volt as replacements.

There have been several other threads on this on the forum if you do a search.

Hi Graham..so i'm on page 5-13.......and its the Servo PCB 30....yes??

    I don't see any "c" there...but i see the 2101 and 2102......but no 2103....

Capacitor 2103 is to the left of the laser output potentiometer and just above the 6101 chip. They are coloured black on the drawing.

Got it !!!  Graham...do you think we could just change that out to the spec that you noted above without testing?? And give 'er a shot??

    Gracias..

Well the experts do say that you should set the laser current and offset up again. If you promise not to tell anybody I'll let you into a secret................

    Re: Beocenter 9500

    Hi Graham and others..

We replaced the C2103 with exact replacement.. still not working..

I see in the diagram that there is a TR 6108 (BC 338-16) in the same circut and a R 3116...but in the parts sheet , it does not list a R 3116 for specs..

    Any other ideas??

Outside my level of expertise I'm afraid. Maybe Martin (Dillen) can help.

Actually are the values for all resistors between 3108 to 3038 not given as 1 ohm  2% 1/3W ?
