    LX2800 v LX2802 no menu display or is it an LX2801 !!

I have an LX 2802 on which the display and teletext module stopped working (board 57 and 10A).  I have just bought an old LX2800 and swapped the board from it (only 10 no 57 though they are both visually the same - what is the difference between the two?) so I can once again obtain teletext and see the volume, balance, colour and other settings.  However there is now no display menu so still I can't configure it to work with my Beosystem 7000.  I suspect I need a different chip, software or an upgrade so it is not the only LX2801 in existence!  Does anyone have any ideas please? Or does anyone have a spare board from an old LX2502  or 2802 (or perhaps other model of TV?)

I have found the following, but not sure how to proceed - how are the sofware updates made available?

The TV-set must be equipped with a Datalink module MK2.  If a Datalink module MK1 is built into the TV-set, replace

the 5IC1 software with the MK2 version, part no. 8341101.

    Option:  OPTION 2

Set the five code switches on the Datalink module to the following  positions:

    Switch 1 - OFF

    Switch 2 - OFF

    Switch 3 - OFF

    Switch 4 - OFF

    Switch 5 - ON

If no Datalink module is built in, modify the TV-set as follows.

        NEW 26/27IC4            8341001

        NEW Tuner Module        8003904 (module 51 38XX)

        IF  Sound Module        8003889

          if Nicam, NO modification

if Sound Module 24/28 ver. II, remove IC 103, establish clock/data signal path as in module 55/56 38XX

if Sound Module 24/28 ver. I, shift to Nicam or module 55/56 38XX

     Thanks,

    Brian

If you have anything connected to the SCART, try unplugging this.
