    A guide to OPTION.

Does this site have a guide to option settings?

I often come across option problems and wondered if there's a complete reference guide.

    Richard,

There are several B&O documents which describe option programming, but normally with pictures showing typical configuration, however the following may be easier to understand:-

Option 0 = No IR reception
Option 1 = Two IR-eyes in the same main room
Option 2 = One IR-eye in the main room
Option 4 = Link room product connected to one or two main room products, all in the same room
Option 5 = Two IR-eyes in the same link room
Option 6 = One IR-eye in the link room

    Regards Keith....

    Re: A guide to OPTION.

I am still trying to understand an explanation to a recent post I made.

I have a BV1 (option6) upstairs linked to an Avant (option2) downstairs. Why would a Beo1 operate the BV1 in option 1 but the Beo4 doesnt. If Bv1 is in option 6, the Beo4 works but not the Beo1.

I still would like to think it is possible to use both a Beo4 & Beo1 with the BV1.

Whilst I will have to look into it to give you a complete answer, I always thought you could either have the Beo1 or the Beo4 set with the Beovision 1 & Beocentre 1, but not both. If you could use both you would have to ask yourself why the "Customer Service Menu" shows either a Beo1 or Beo4 as the remote. In all other Beovision & Beocentre products there is no such function.

    Re: A guide to OPTION.

I can use a Beo4 and a A9 remote keyring at the same time with my BV1, so why not a Beo4 and a Beo 1 at the same time?

I hear what you are saying and I do not know the answer to the question, but in my memory I kept telling myself there was a reason, but at this time I just cannot think what it is. I will let you know when my memory on this subject returns.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: A guide to OPTION.

....at least you have the option to use either, my Beocentre 1 doesn't seem to support a Beo 1 at all!

    Ray,

Your question is linked, but what I can say is that two versions of the Beocentre 1 were shipped with Beo1's and two versions with Beo4's as below:-

    Type 850X Beo1

    Type 851X Beo1

    Type 852X Beo4

    Type 8531 through 8540 Beo4

I am currently sitting down with my tea and a piece of homemade coffee and Walnut cake, but I still have not come up with the answer yet.

    Hi together,

I read this thread with interest and came to the following assumption: Is it possible that the Beo1 is always operating in LINK mode? It might be worth a try to control your BV1 by the Beo4 by preceding each command with LINK, e.g. LINK SAT or LINK RADIO etc. (while the BV1 is configured to be controlled by the Beo1).

    Re: A guide to OPTION.

Thanks but I'm afraid it didn't work.

    I OPTION1 my BV1 so the Beo1 worked.

I added LINK to my Beo4 list then selected LINK+SAT, LINK+RADIO, LINK+etc and nothing happened.

Please keep your ideas coming, I feel that the answer is very close.
