Beo Lab 9 compatible with non B&O amps

I went to my local B&O dealer in Bangkok, to inquire about Beo Lab 9 speakers, I currently have a quad pre amp and power amp, the sales rep informed me that my system would not work with the B&O speakers. I understand that the power amp would be redundant, but am I correct in assuming that other than this the system would be compatible, do the speakers cables use regular connectors, or would these also have to change?

Can you give me an unbiased assessment of whether I will experience significant improvements over my current Bose Acoustimass 5 speakers?

The BL9s will make your Bose speakers sound like two buckets with strings attached. Have your dealer set them up next to your Bose speakers, and listen for yourself.

Your Quad pre-amp will work nicely together with the BL9s, you'll need a Powerlink-to-RCA conversion cable, which your dealer can provide you with. Check that the pre-amp RCA signal out strength is compatible with the BL9's limit.
