    Will this setup work?

I am thinking about using playing my MP3 files (stored on a network nevice) via a MAC and control it easily with the Beo. Right now I use a X-box with XBMC which works nice, but another remote control on the table...

I got a Beovision 3-32 with DD module, 5 speakers connected to it. Via ML (and a converter, of course) a Beocenter 2500 is connected.

How can I use the Beoport now? I know, connection to a MAC, USB and sound plug is needed, IR-eye makes sense, too. No problem there. But how about connecting the system to my setup?

Can I use the Power Link connection of the Beolink Converter (Type 1610/1611) and listen to MP3s via this connection? (is N.Music/N.Radio available, too - I suppose not, since the Beocenter is not capable).

How do I get the Video signal to the TV then (for showing FrontRow for example)? Just a diret connetion from mac to tv, I suppose.

    Thanks for you help!

    Best regards

    Ralf

PS: Beovision 3-32 has Masterlink, the Beocenter 2500 hasn't, Beolink Convertes Type 1610 and 1611 available.

    My Beo: Beosound 3000, Beolab 4000, Beo 4 DVD,  Beolab 5000/Beomaster 5000, Beovox S45.2 with Stands, Beosystem 7000 black with Beolink 7000, Beolink 1000, F1000 (3 cubes), Beovox 5000, Beovox 3000, Attyca 1.

Ridax had a solution that allowed you to connect a PC or Mac to these systems. Has he rejoined?

    Hi Ralf,

why don't you keep your X-Box and ask Ulf if he can modify it to be controlled with Beo 4 ?

You're right. I had a similar setup with Beocenter2300 and all I tried wasn't that convenient it should be... Finally I gave up and upgraded the Audio system. Now everything works like a charm, also in the link rooms :)
