When you say multi-regional, do you mean one which sends out the correct messages to make a B&O DVD player multi-region?

Do you mean multi-language rather that regional?

As far as I am aware, it's one of those things which you need some special kit to do, whether it's a computer loaded with the correct software/hardware or a special chip mounted on the circuit board. I don't really know anything else about them, I'd say it's not for the faint-hearted!

Would you happen to know where I would be able to buy the kit or the chip?.... This is much harder than I thought Smile

I don't know - sorry. Maybe worth asking your dealer if they can multi-region your DVD player for you though. I'd imagine they will want to come round and do it themselves...

    Hi:

Apparently, from what I remember B&O will not do this for you directly. However, they will recommend someone that can do it for you. I think this is a case of altering the Firmware and for this you need a computer loaded with the right software. It will also void your warranty.

Have you tried it with a Philips remote?  Some of the later PVRs and the DVD2 are Philips devices in nice cases. Again this will almost certainly mess up your warranty.

    Hope this helps

Thanks very much for your help. One last thing, I know this is very far fetched, but would you happen to know or have a have a rough idea how I would be able to get hold of this software where I can buy it or something?

Thanks very much for your help

    Re: Modified Beo4 remote

I would google it - I think you can buy DVD unlocking software which has all the unlock codes via remote on them (well they say all but  I doubt it). I have never used these. I have only unlocked a DVD with a free code before someone realised the commercial potential of bundling all codes together and selling them.

I would just google using different search terms such as DVD cracks, DVD firmware software, DVD hacks etc. Or ask a friendly TV salesman who does not have an interest in keeping the info from you. I am bored at work so will have a look for you too and see what I can find.

However, as what you are attempting to do is possibly illegal, or at the very least frowned upon I doubt you will have any comeback if you break your equipment. Or, if you buy something and it does not do the job.

    Hope this helps

Cool thanks for your help hey. What I'm really trying to do is use my Beo4 remote so that I can multi region other Bang & Olufsen DVD products (but not DVD2).

Sorry for being such a pain :-)

    Cheers

You can buy a modified Beo4 which will do this job. Someone in Scandinavia I believe but I can't recall who or where!
