    Beocom 6000

    Hello all

I am new to Beoworld and was hoping for some advice.

I recently purchased a Beocom2 phone and the chocolate bar connection to the phone line.

My in laws gave me 2 beocom 6000 phones (quite old - 5 years approx.). I can get one of the phones to register to the base unit but they will not pick up the adddress book etc. This I find a real pain and was wondering if there is any way round it?

The second phone does not seem to charge up and I can't get anything out of it at all - any ideas.

    Thanks in advance

    Michael

    Re: Beocom 6000

Hello Michael and a very warm welcome to Beoworld.

If your Beocom 6000's are about 5 years old it could be a Mark I or Mark II version as that was about the time of the changeover. A Mark I has a black DOT at the 9'O Clock position on the dial and a Mark II has the letters INT

You issue with the address book is almost certainly caused by the fact that the phones have a facility to use either a PERSONAL or COMMON address book and I expect you have the phone set to personal.

I am taking a guess that your Beocom 6000's are the Mark I version and to change the address book from personla to common you need to do the following:-

    • Press DOT then MENU
    • Press 7 to display the handset/base menu
    • Turn wheel to find PERSONAL or COMMON
    • Press OK

With regards to the second phone, is it actually turned on ? Press the centre button for at least 5 seconds or until it comes on.

If that fails, then either the battery is faulty or the phone has another fault.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: Beocom 6000

    Thanks for the quick response.

I have had a look and it is a mark 1 phone. I have set the menu to common and it tells me that 'common is stored'. Still when I try to store an entry then it says 'phone book **not base 1**.

I have had a look at which base it is registered too and both the beocom 6000 and the beocom2 are set to the same base.

Do you have any other ideas?

I have tried holding down the centre button on the other phone for quite some time and still it isn't working - i think therefore that we have a faulty battery. Is it worth trying to get fixed at B and O or just buying a new one?

thanks again - look forward to your reply!

Hi michael,if the 2 phone you got from the in-laws are mrk 1 beo com 6000 they will never work with the beoline base you have. They may register but they will never work 100% and that goes for beo com 2 mrk1.Mrk 2 beocom 6000 and mrk 2 beocom 2 only work on that base.unregister the 6000 for your base because it will make your beocom 2 do all sorts of weird things not ring no display.Tony

    Hi Michael,

you might try to swap the batteries between the two phones and see if the second phone starts working then. The battery is not very expensive and it´s worth to get it replaced.
