    Re: DVD controller 4020

    Thanks Keith,

I think that the MKII is 4021. 4020 is MKI :-(

How to know the SW version?

    Maybe you know more...

     Thanks

all three DVD controllers were released at the same time to work with the BeoVision1 and the Beo4 remote in Q4 2002

    4020 (EU)
    4021 (GB)
    4022 (AUS)

as far as I know they all control the same list of DVD players that Keith lists above :-)

    Re: DVD controller 4020

As Keith already mentioned, there is a mkI and a mkII type.

The first mkI controls several Philips, Panasonic and Onkyo models.

The mkII controls more types and can be recognized by the socket on one side of the controller. With this socket the dealer can update the software,

I have a mkII for sale, send me a pm if someone is interested.

oh, I see, I did not realise that MKII had a little socket on the side of the controller for re-programming, maybe the DVD Controller page needs updating to list how many different models there are :-)

To be totally clear, there are TWO DVD controllers, Mark I and Mark II

The Mark I has the three "Type" numbers quoted above for each country/region

The Mark II has type numbers 4046 for EU excluding UK and 4047 is for UK.

The list of products supported is for Mark II only

Is there also a MKI list, my Philips dvd is broken and I want to buy a new one.

(I also have a Type 4046 which is MKII)

    Thanks.

I know three DVD players that the MK I controller supports :

    Panasonic DVDA360      Onkyo DV-S515     Philips DVD950

can anybody add to that list perhaps ???

My experience is that both support almost all Onkyo models.

The 515 has the same ir/codes as the 525, 535, 555 and the later 404-504 models.

The attached photo is taken from a 4046 mkII.
