I can't believe I did this, but to quote a fellow Beoworld poster, "The voices in my head keep telling me to buy more B&O."  I bought a Beogram 3000 (completes my 3000 system) and Soundsmith MMC5 on ebay, still waiting for their arrival. Just got a pair of RL 140's also from ebay, now trying to find the stands.  And  finally bought a Beocord 8000 for a song on craigslist, from a local guy moving to Singapore who had to unload all his B&O stuff.  Unfortunatley, it needs a new belt which I'll be ordering from Dillen. 

Nice selection. The Beocord 8000 is a lovely machine, full of clever touches. I have a 9000 which takes it one step further but the 8000 looks better!

Tomorrow I'll install my new HDR2.

What a fantastic device

The recording video quality is absolutely amazing, less than 3% - 5% of lost from the live  emission when set in "high quality" mode, hardly appreciable and only if you stay less than 2 meters from the 32" avant screen.
Absolutely quiet when working.
No heat at all, after 12 hours non stop.
And the beo4 control is really friendly use  

Happy with the purchase

I wonder how it compares to a Sky+ box. This too works well with a Be4 and has an Electronic Programme Guide, the ability to series record and even the ability to be rung up and programmed down the phone. Seems to be very good quality recordings and very cheap to purchase.
