Very nice receiver but if it hasn't had the capacitors replaced, it is worth doing that. Lots and lots of the leaky red ones in there!

Dillen is a well known member of beoworld for repairing old B&O stuff.

Yes Beoworld would be lost without him.

One of the annoying things when buying old 20 odd years B&O is the fact the most B&O service give up unless you pay the price. Quickly and many times they will say: No spareparts aviable sorry.

It was easy enough in 2003 when I brought my Beomaster 2000 and Beocord 2000 for repairs. They fixed it and 3 years later it still sounded good with no troubles so I sold it and started to work for the next system Beolab 8000.

I finally got the BM8000 a few months ago along with a cdx which is now ready acording to Dillen.

Meanwhile I got a white Beosystem 6000 ('80s). I was wondering if I should bring the system to Dillen directly as the master was dead, Beocord needed belts and more, Beogram 6006 minor work. So far the BM and BC is running. BM very good and faultless.

The reason for Dillen was my Beogram 8002 which I paid 215£ for repairs and 2 months later nearly dead. Brought it to Dillen and the rest is history. It's still playing like new on a daily basis.

The BM8000 goes to Dillen on saturday as it was not testet long enough(my fault). It played 2 nights and I got it on friday. Got it home and the fuses still blow so the power section neeeds to be changed. Everything else is done.

I'm sure you'll not be disappointed. Will you be using a Beogram and/or Beogram CD with it?

Good luck with your search for some MS150s. I ended up with a pair of Beovox Pentas becuase they were easier to source. Still, the BM8000 is a fantastic piece of equipment. Here's mine:

    Re: master 8000

I will be using a beocord 8004....it will be my bedroom set. For everyday use in the livingroom i have a beosystem 5500 and hopefully beovox 4500. But I have thought about doing the other way around....meaning using the bm8000 in the livingroom. If I do that i will have to purchase a beogramCD...maybe the CDX.

I have a similar setup, but the other way around. In my bedroom I have a Beosystem 5000 through CX50s and a Cona subwoofer. Is very adequate in this size room. In my larger living room I have the setup pictured through the Pentas. I can recommend the CDX wholeheartedly, as it has a lovely sound that seems to complement the BM8000 well. If you have a large room, and the power to burn that the BM8000 offers, you must get some BIG speakers if you are able to. MS150s or 150.2s would be ideal, though the Beovox Pentas are also very capable. I had thought for a while about using some Beovox 5000 panel speakers, but their rarity and the slight restriction in placement options over the Penta towers made me think again.

Either way, you must post a picture once you have your setup set up, so to speak :)
