Is it possible to enable use of a set top box controller via the LX5500?

Only if the STB-C is in another TV! I can use the STB-C of my Avant via my LX6000 which is linked to the Avant. I can control my Sky+ completely via this method. There is no STB-C for the LX range unfortunately. The other solution would be a Lintronic box.

No LX 5500 can not be fitted with a STB-C, but All LX 5000/LX 6000 mk I/II and MX 4000/6000/7000 can be fitted with

    a STB C module type 4030 (order no 14030000)

The software must be updated to version 3.13 or 4.15 if lastest MX 7000

Are you sure about this? My understanding was that the STB-C would only fit the MX Beo4 models and not those models using the 3XXX type numbers. The LX was similar to those early MXs and was also not able to use the STB-C.

If you know differently, that is most interesting - although getting hold of the STB-C will be tricky!

    Re: STB-C and LX

    Yes Peter I am sure

The different between 33xx and 78XX is the software and the CRT tube.

42XX and 33XX used 2 way com using BL 5000 or BL 7000, 78XX used one way

Actually I updated a LX MK I (type 4207) and fitted the module. Works fine. both using CVBS or RGB inputs via scart

STB-C recording via V 8000 (SW 3.0 or higher) works fine also.

In the LX model one need to get a plastic bracket (in the right side) that was used for the LM Sat buildt in with mac dekoder module. Actualy in the bracket there are place for both the mac module and the STB-Module.

In the MX the STB module must be placed where the old PiP or mac dekoder module was original placed.(in the front on top of the metal frame. See installation manual for the STB module on this site.

Further it also works with the AV 2 expander (the updated version for DVD operation)

Updated software for the module is still availble.

Thank you very much for this! Shame that they have stopped making the module but no doubt there are a few still around. B&O don't seem to know this as their guide does not include the earlier MXs or the LX!!

    Re: STB-C and LX

B&O Struer (Denmark) knew it could be updated, and they informed the dealers, however very few dealers

passed this information further. So B&O got that opinion, that there was no interest.

Actually it was B&O in Struer who on request, informed me about the possibillities,(and later how to install) and was very surpriced that the dealer did't know (or did't bother)

Properly why B&O changed their dealer policy and came up with the BeoStore concept.

I have learned one thing: Allways contact customer service in Stuer Direct by mail for options or solutions.

And then go to the dealer with the reply. This works 100 % every time.

    Re: STB-C and LX

If it is somehow possible to get one of those STB-C controllers would it then be possible to use it for controlling other things than sattelite settop boxes? I am thinking maybe there is a newer software for it or something.
