    ML/MCL Converter & VX7000

Hello - This is my first post, and I would like to seek answers to a couple of questions

    1) Is it possible to use the ML/MCL converter as a power-amp with a pre-amp has phono outputs?
I have previously used this converter with a pair of CX100 & the Beoport (the Beoport now has a pair of BeoLab 2500 which work very well Smile )

    2) Is it possible to use a VX7000 with a non-B&O TV? The LX6000, which was used with the VX7000, is dying Sad A case of the blue colour disappearing and then suddenly re-appearing. It may be repairable, but I am not sure if parts would still be available for a TV that is over 10 years old. A new B&O LCD/plasma is, sadly, out of my current price range.

     Thanks for your help

    1. I could imagine the answer is yes but you need a special cable.

    2. Not usefully. However if you can get hold of an IR eye, it is possible to wire this into the VX  in which case the answer is yes. I would say that VCRs are so cheap now that I would just get a non B&O one. Having said that, you can probably get a decent LX for less than £100 which might well last a good few years! Possibly cost less and easier to find than the IR eye!!

I would go for another LX, they seem to go for next to nothing on Ebay these day's.

The MCL/ML converter needs a trigger voltage to turn it on when used as a slave amp. This would normally come from the powerlink output of the Beomaster etc.Unless your preamp has a trigger output you can adapt, the amp won't work!

The VX7000 will only function by remote control via a compatible B&O tv,it does'nt have a socket for a sensor eye,as did the earlier VX5000.
