    BeoPort and BeoLink PC2 difference

    Hi,

I'm considering buying a used Beolink PC2 but am worried about buying an outdated product. Can someone tell me the difference between Beolink PC2 and BeoPort?

    Thanks in advance

The software. Otherwise seem identical! The only problem with the older PC2s is that they can hum with BL3s. This is easily fixed. Newer ones with a serial number after 94247594 have this fixed. It just requires a short between pin 2 and pin 7.

All recently produced speakers need either the thin MK3 PowerLink cables or,
preferably, the new fully mounted and double shielded PowerLinks to avoid
    these problems.

PS: BLb 5s - only fully mounted version.

I have the thin MK3 cable and I ahve this humming ... even when I only connect one speaker to the beolink pc2 or a beolab 2 between, disconnecting line in, connecting different line in and so on.

I always get this really terrible noise from the speakers ... what can i do?

Not having any details about your setup I can only guess:

Very likely a ground (earthing) loop between antenna/cable connected to
other components of your MasterLink system and the BeoPort/PC.

Test: disconnet all antenna cables (Audio and TV) and check again.

If this "resolves" the problem of hum, you'll have to install a galvanic insutator
    to your antenna/cable system ...

Re: BeoPort and BeoLink PC2 difference

    My entire B&O system is:

    PC -> BeoLink PC2 -> BeoLab 2 -> 2x BeoLab 4

+BeoTime not connected to anything at all.

I also get the humming / noise when I only connect 2x BeoLab 4 with Y to BeoLink Pc2 or jsut one without Y.

The BeoLab 4 sound fine when I connect the only with line.

Yes, if older pc2 with serial lower than 94247594
