    BC2 as DVD2?

    Hi all,

I have an old BC2 that I'm trying to get working as DVD2 when connected to a BV7-40. I can't find any setting on the BC2 to configure the DVD to be DVD2. On the BV7-40 I set-up an input to be DVD2 and connected this to the BC2, but the BC2 does not start when pressing DVD2 on the remote (or DVD). When I put a DVD disc in the BC2 and press disc on the front planel it start and the BV7-40 startes up but the BV7-40 starts playing from the internal DVD and not the BC2 DVD.

Anyone knows how to configure the BC2 to act as DVD2? Could it be a issue related to old SW in the BC2? It's running SW 1.30a.

    Regards
    Ken

This may be a silly answer and not intended to be arrogant but Why?

I have both the BC2 and the BV7. I use the BC2 for music (digout etc..) and the BV7 for DVD.

Both units will  (BC2 Audio slave, BV7 Video master) act separately if configured to option 0 and option 2 respectively;-

BC2 will activated the disc "CD" and play CD, BV7 will activate the BV7 DVD and play a DVD when "DVD". If a CD is inserted, activation is via the DVD button.

There may be permutaions of this in the beo4 List menu but again, I have to ask why?

    Re: BC2 as DVD2?

It's not a must for me to have a DVD2, but it would enable me to see a DVD in the main room and another in a lonk room at the same time. That's why.

    Re: BC2 as DVD2?

This is a nice feature - the kids can watch a Disney DVD playing on the BC2 in a link room, while you enjoy your 7-40 and a different DVD in the main room.

Which AV socket are you using? If you have problems, I would recommend the following:

    1. You do not have to change anything on the BC2
    2. Connect the BC2 socket unit to the AV1 socket by scart, and, if you like, connect the SPDIF cable as well
    3. Set up the AV1 to read DVD2 in the 7-40's menu, add the digital input if you have connected the SPDIF cable as well
    4. Add the DVD2 command to the LIST function on your Beo4

Or is this what you have done - without success?

    Re: BC2 as DVD2?

    Hi! Help needed!

I've just bought a BC2 and tries to connect it to my BV7.
I've connected it with ML, 21-pin SCART and SPDIF.
On the BV7 it's connected to AV1 with the A1 (SPDIF) activated.
The connection is set to DVD2.

    Now to the issue:
If I press DVD2 the BC2 starts and plays a DVD on the BC2 and I get picture but no sound.
If I press CD the BC2 starts playing a CD but I get no sound.
If I press Radio the BC2 starts playing the radio and I GET sound.

What have I missed? Is this setup not aimed to work?
I really want a second DVD for link rooms (and I want to play CD)

    Thanks!
    //Ola

When you press Radio you've got sound because it goes through the ML.

When in DVD mode it goes through the Scart and Spdif.

I think the Spdif connection is not working. Change the settings in the BV7 to say that there is no Spdif connection to see if you get DVD sound.

    Thanks for helping me out!

I tried what you said but still no sound on DVD or CD.
I even tried to remove the coax on both BV7 and BC2.

    Any other suggestion?

Have you checked the setup menu of the BC2 (how it is connected to your tv)?

The only thing I found there was DVD audio and the options where "Scart" or "PL/Scart".

I have set this to "Scart" because my speakers i connected to the BV7.

Are there other settings on the BC2?

    YES!

Now it works. I disconnected the ML and power on the BC2 and reconnected it after a few seconds. Now it works! Must have been some ML communication problem.
